Cadzand and Cadzand-Bad are among the most beautiful places in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen to explore by bike. Wide beaches, the Zwin nature reserve just across the Belgian border, polder landscapes and culinary highlights — all within a one-hour bike ride. We make it possible to rent a bike in Cadzand, even though we do not have our own shop there: through our delivery service we bring the rental bike to your accommodation or holiday home in Cadzand-Bad, or you can collect it at one of our nearby locations.
Cadzand by Bike — Why This Region?
Cadzand-Bad is the southernmost seaside resort in the Netherlands and has undergone significant redevelopment over recent years. Beyond the wide beach, the marina and the modern boulevard, Cadzand sits just a short ride from the Zwin Nature Park on the Belgian side of the border. For cyclists, this is gold: a few hundred metres of pedalling and you are in another country, in a different landscape. From Cadzand you cycle to Knokke-Heist in about 15 minutes, to Sluis for a market square terrace in roughly 20 minutes, and towards Bruges in around 35 minutes (though the last stretch makes more sense as part of a round trip).
The entire area is flat, with well-maintained cycle paths and clear signposting via the Dutch junction network (knooppuntennetwerk). For both sporty cyclists and families, this is ideal terrain.

We do not have a rental point in Cadzand-Bad itself — but that needn’t be a problem. We offer two ways to get a bike in Cadzand:

Electric bikes — by far the most popular choice. Cadzand-Bad itself is flat, but distances are substantial: to Sluis, the Zwin, Knokke, Breskens or Oostburg you cycle 25–40 km round trip. With an e-bike you do this without fatigue. The coastal wind in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen often blows hard, and electric assistance makes a real difference.
City bikes — for shorter rides to the beach, marina or for a coffee. Comfortable, simple, affordable.

Cycle Routes from Cadzand — Our Three Favourites
Route 1 — Cadzand-Bad to Zwin Nature Park (15 km)
A short ride with the ultimate contrast: from Dutch boulevard to Belgian international bird sanctuary. From Cadzand-Bad follow the coastal road towards the border crossing at the Zwin. The park itself charges entrance, but you can also cycle alongside the reserve via the Zwindijk. Paved paths, suitable for all bike types. Beach pavilions along the way provide stopping points.
Tip: go early morning for the best birds and least traffic.
Route 2 — The Flemish Loop via Sluis (28 km)
From Cadzand-Bad first inland to Retranchement, one of the most beautiful old fortified villages in the Netherlands. Then onward to Sluis, famous for its market square, windmill and shops. From Sluis back via polder roads past Aardenburg or directly back to Cadzand. Completely flat, fine on a city bike, more comfortable with an e-bike when windy.
Tip: plan a long lunch stop in Sluis. The terrace by the town hall is a classic.
Route 3 — Coastal Stars: Cadzand to Breskens (33 km round trip)
For the more dedicated cyclist: along the entire coast of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen to Breskens, where the ferry to Vlissingen departs. Along the way you pass Nieuwvliet-Bad and Groede, both with lovely beaches. Easily done on an e-bike; on a regular bike a sporty day trip.
Tip: in Breskens, lunch at one of the seafood restaurants by the harbour. Check ferry tunnel closures before returning.

Cadzand-Bad has transformed significantly: the new boulevard, the marina with its restaurants, and the developed Noordzeeresort have upgraded the place. Sights and stop-off points include:
